How to add a store and choose its settings in CartBoss

To add a store in CartBoss, type its address on the Sites page and click Add site, then choose its settings and click Save. How you start depends on your shop platform.

Shopify store? You don't add it here. Install the CartBoss app from the Shopify App Store and your store connects by itself. See How to connect your Shopify store to CartBoss.

Add a WooCommerce store

  1. In your CartBoss dashboard, click Sites in the left menu, under Websites.
  2. Type your store's address, for example www.yourstore.com, and click Add site.

Sites page with a store address typed in and the Add site button

CartBoss opens the new store's settings. Check them (see below), click Save, then click Install CartBoss to connect the store. The install steps are in How to connect your WooCommerce store to CartBoss.

Store settings

You can change these at any time: on the Sites page, click the pencil button next to the store, change what you need and click Save at the top.

General

General tab with Site URL, Site name and Abandoned cart consent

  • Site URL: your store's address.
  • Site name: the name at the start of each text, so customers know who it is from, for example "MYSHOP: Hello Jane…". Use your store name so they recognise you. 3 to 15 characters, and not a web address. CartBoss fills in your domain name to start with. The example below the field shows how it looks. With an active Brand Kit brand, the name is left out and the brand's sender name shows as the sender in countries that support it.
  • Abandoned cart consent: who may get abandoned cart texts.
    • All visitors: everyone who typed a phone number at checkout. You recover more carts.
    • Only visitors with explicit consent on your website: only shoppers who ticked the box to receive texts, or who are already active in your account (for example, they bought from you before). Fewer texts, stricter on consent. Choose this if the law in your country requires it.
See How to text only shoppers who gave SMS consent.

Advanced

Advanced tab with Country tracking limitations, Quiet hours and SMS cost optimization

  • Country tracking limitations: choose which countries CartBoss works for on this store. Pick Include selected countries to text only shoppers from the countries you sell to, or Exclude selected countries to leave out a few. This also protects you from fake traffic from other countries.
  • Quiet hours / DND: no texts at night. With Enabled (recommended), texts that would go out between Pause sending at and Resume sending at (next day) wait until the morning, in the shopper's country time. The default is 22:00 to 08:00. Shoppers in the US always get 00:00 to 08:30 Eastern time instead of your times, even when quiet hours are off. See How to set quiet hours for your CartBoss texts.
  • SMS cost optimization: replaces special letters such as Č with plain ones (C). A text with special letters fits fewer characters, so it can count as two texts. Keep it Enabled (recommended) unless your messages must show those letters. See How to keep a CartBoss text to one SMS part.
